About Novus Examples
Novus Examples is a free library of real, downloadable example and test files — think “lorem ipsum for files.” It exists to give developers, QA engineers, and anyone evaluating a tool a set of reproducible fixtures with documented, known properties.
Generated, not collected
Every file is produced by a deterministic script, not gathered from the web. That is the whole idea. Because a script made each file, it ships with an exact specification, a fixed random seed where randomness is involved, and — where it helps — a paired counterpart for before/after testing. It also means the entire library is copyright-clean and free for any use.
Documented and paired
Competitors hand you “a PDF.” We hand you a documented PDF with its form fields listed and a paired image-only scan for OCR testing. Every file page shows exactly what the file is, and files that belong together — clean and noisy, colour and greyscale, source and scanned — link to each other. Browse the library by category or by testing purpose.
Templates and Studio
Beyond test fixtures, Templates offers usable document starting points and visual templates for product photography, marketplace listings, social posts, and marketing scenes. Visual Template Studio edits those scenes locally — separate from the text/data editor. Image suites for restoration, inpainting, deblur, and upscale sit alongside the denoise and background-removal fixtures.
Part of Novus Stream Solutions
Novus Examples is a project of Novus Stream Solutions, a sole proprietorship trading as Novus Stream Solutions in London, Ontario, Canada, which builds a range of file and media tools. The library doubles as the QA fixture source for those tools — the same denoise ladders, format sets, and audio references we use to test our own products are the ones published here for you to use.
