Novus Examples

Press kit

Everything you need to write about Novus Examples accurately: boilerplate you can paste, the numbers behind the library, the brand files we actually ship, and the naming rules we care about. Questions or an interview request go to examples@novusstreamsolutions.com.

One line

Novus Examples is a free library of real, downloadable example and test files — every one generated by a deterministic script and published with an exact specification.

Short paragraph

Novus Examples is a free library of purpose-built example and test files for developers, QA engineers, and anyone evaluating file tooling. Every file is generated by a deterministic script rather than collected from the web, so each one ships with an exact spec sheet, a fixed seed where randomness is involved, and — where it helps — a paired counterpart for before-and-after testing. The library also includes editable visual and document templates, live form and accessibility target pages, and browser-based editors that never upload your work. Every file is free for any use with no attribution required. Novus Examples is a project of Novus Stream Solutions.

Long version

Novus Examples exists because “sample file” sites hand you a mystery. A PDF with no stated structure, an image with no recorded noise level, a CSV whose quirks you discover when your importer breaks. Novus Examples inverts that: a deterministic Python pipeline produces the entire library, so every file arrives with its properties written down — noise sigma, silence timestamps, form field names, encodings, line endings, seeds — and files that belong together are explicitly paired: clean and noisy, colour and greyscale, source and scanned. Because every file is generated, the library is copyright-clean and free for any use with no attribution required. Beyond fixtures, the site publishes editable visual and document templates, downloadable and live form examples, live accessibility and scraper target pages, and four browser-based creation workspaces that run entirely on the user's device. There is no account, no upload, no database, and no paywall; the site is funded by advertising. Novus Examples is a project of Novus Stream Solutions, based in London, Ontario, Canada.

Naming

  • The product is Novus Examples— two words, capital N and capital E. Not “NovusExamples”, not “novus examples”, not “Novus Example”.
  • The installed-app short name is also Novus Examples. The retired “Nx” abbreviation is not part of the current identity.
  • The company is Novus Stream Solutions, written in full on first mention.
  • The domain is examples.novusstreamsolutions.com. Link to it rather than deep-linking a fixture whose URL you have not checked — although published file URLs are permanent by policy and are never renamed once shipped.

The mark

The shared Novus silhouette places a white N over a gridded globe with three tools in orbit. This Examples edition uses a sample file, a validation check, and a form/template grid. Download the self-contained lockup or standalone mark below instead of recreating it from live text.

Do not recolour the mark, stretch it, add effects to it, or place it on a background that drops its contrast. Do not use the mark in a way that implies Novus Stream Solutions endorses your product or article.

Brand files you can download

Every format below is generated from the same committed vector source, including the safe-zone-padded maskable icon.

Almost every page also generates its own 1200 x 630 social card at build time; the URL is in that page's og:image tag if you need a screenshot-free header image.

The ecosystem

Novus Examples is one of several Novus Stream Solutions products. The hub links all of them.

What you may and may not use

The two halves of this site carry different terms, and press coverage usually touches both:

  • The example files are free for any use, with no attribution required. Screenshot them, embed them, redistribute them, use them in a commercial article. See the license.
  • The site design, source code, branding, and trademarks are not. They remain the property of Novus Stream Solutions. You may use the icons above and screenshots of the site to illustrate an article about Novus Examples; you may not use them as your own branding or to suggest an endorsement.
  • Files are provided as-is, without warranty, and some are intentionally corrupt for error-handling tests — worth a sentence if your piece recommends downloading anything.

What we cannot supply

There are no executive headshots, no office photography, no vector logo pack, and no funding or headcount figures to share — this is a small, self-funded project rather than a company with a comms function. If you need something specific, ask and we will tell you honestly whether it exists.
