What is a .otio file?

application/vnd.opentimeline+json

OpenTimelineIO (OTIO) is an open editorial interchange model for timelines, tracks, clips, transitions, gaps, markers, and external media references. Its JSON serialization stores schema-labelled objects and rational time values while adapters translate the same timeline model to and from application-specific formats.

How to use a .otio file

Use an example .otio file to test schema-version handling, clip and track ordering, rational frame ranges, missing-media references, marker preservation, and semantic comparison of an imported timeline against its expected edit decisions.
